The benefit gained from good network design is that everything will work as it is supposed to.
There is a balance involved in the design process and from experience we can tell which ideas will work and which may be a challenge.
An audit of your network gives us a base to work from. Part of the audit is network discovery where we learn the architecture, what infrastructure and systems there are today to support a Wi-Fi deployment and how ready your overall environment is. The other part of the audit is used to understand your critical success factors, what processes and compliance must be followed; it involves talking to key people and understanding your business objectives and your criteria for a successful design. We provide a range of audits starting from a basic review of primary systems up to a full site audit.
For almost any professional wireless deployment, a site survey is imperative. It is useful from an audit and verification perspective for radio frequency design and Access Point type and placement.
A site survey inspects an area or zone where the proposed service will be deployed. A survey can determine precise locations for installation of Access Points to meet the coverage and performance requirements. It will discover local interference (although Wi-Fi deals with a constantly changing environment) and the location of obstacles to wireless signals. Pre and Post site surveys are considered crucial to successful wireless implementations.
Network Design Documentation can optionally be provided. Depending on your required deliverables, documentation can range from a simple network summary paper to a detailed design document.
It is recommended that the design is proven in a Pilot. This stage allows adjustments and tweaks to be made and to discover the unexpected; the 'undocumented' in a quasi-production environment. Information learned from a Pilot feeds into a final design.
